Howard Stern's wife has revealed that Robin Quivers's cancer diagnosis led the host to consider ending his Sirius XM radio show.

Quivers recently announced on The Howard Stern Show that she had been declared cancer-free after undergoing treatment for more than a year.

Stern has previously described Quivers's illness as "a nightmare", and now his wife Beth Stern has revealed that the host initially mulled over stepping away from his radio programme.

"I was by Howard's side when he was with Robin and it was really a rough year… he said to me that if anything happened to Robin he would not continue his show," Beth told Extra.

She continued: "This is a celebration, she's cancer-free, and Robin is the most incredible, bravest woman I know and we love her dearly… she's family to us."
