Speaking to Howard's wife Beth Stern for Extra, Quivers spoke about the radio shock jock's compassion during her health crisis.

"It was rough for all of us because right away he took it to heart and I think he was more concerned for me than I was concerned myself," Quivers explained.

She has said of Stern: "He's the reason I'm alive."

Beth told Quivers during the chat: "[Howard] was up night after night throughout your whole ordeal… You are our family… He loves you so much."

Quivers and Stern originally began working together in Washington DC local radio in the early 1980s.

They later moved to New York City to take The Howard Stern Show national, and then joined Sirius XM Satellite Radio in 2006.
