Penelope Cruz has commented on the advert she directed for Agent Provocateur.

The video promoting L'Agent, the line of underwear Penelope designed with her sister Monica, was banned from YouTube for being too raunchy.

However, Penelope has criticised the decision to censor the advert, claiming that it was not as shocking as some of the violence on YouTube which is not censored.

The Counsellor actress told Red magazine: "There are so many violent films on there - and they don't even check your age or ask for your email address before you watch them.

"We actually got a lot of hits because people were curious, 'How come they banned this video? Is Penelope Cruz perverted?' I don't mind. I'd rather be called a pervert for that than the violence they allow teenagers to watch."

She also talked about her husband Javier Bardem, who she married in 2010.

She said: "Javier can do anything. His range is incredible. I knew that the first time we met. He was 20 and I was 17. I knew straight away how talented he was. It was mind-blowing. I mean, I'm not saying that just because he is my husband."

The latest issue of Red magazine is available from December 4.
