Barack Obama: 'Zach Galifianakis was nervous for Between Two Ferns'

By
US President Barack Obama has revealed that Zach Galifianakis was extremely "nervous" to shoot the latest Between Two Ferns episode.

Funny or Die has released a new instalment of the webseries, which sees Obama spar with Galifianakis while promoting healthcare reforms.

Obama spoke about the behind-the-scenes work that went into Between Two Ferns during an interview for On Air with Ryan Seacrest today (March 14).

"Zach actually was pretty nervous," Obama disclosed. "It was funny to watch you know, 'cause [of the format of] this whole Between Two Ferns shtick."

The US leader added: "His whole character is to go after the guests. I think he was looking around seeing all these Secret Service guys with guns and thinking, 'I wonder what happens here if I cross a line?'"

Obama added that his daughter Malia was particularly impressed that he was performing with Galifianakis.

"When I was at the dinner table with the girls, and I said, 'Today I did something with Zach; it's called Two Ferns, I think', Malia was so excited," he explained.

"She, you know, had seen all the previous episodes, so I figured it was going to reach our target audience, which was a lot of young people."

Previous versions of Between Two Ferns have featured Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Bieber.
