The 18-year-old rising star, who reached the Top 5 with his debut single 'Do It All Over Again', stressed that he is not trying to follow in Bieber's footsteps - although he might be partial to a bit of drag racing.
"It's always a positive thing to be compared to anyone successful, and it's going to happen because I'm young and I'm doing pop music," Fox told Digital Spy at the vInspired National Awards on Thursday (March 27). "But we're different people. Rather than being the next someone else I'd rather be the first Elyar Fox."
Asked if there was any danger of him repeating some of Bieber's controversial antics, Fox replied: "Like drag racing? You never know.
"I can imagine it is hard to stay grounded, but I always keep my friends and family around me. My mum is always telling me to stop it when I ever step out of line."
Fox is currently supporting The Wanted on their tour of the UK and Ireland, and although the band have a reputation for being party animals, the youngster said that things have "not been too crazy" so far.
Quizzed on how he'd react if Max George drunkenly shaved off half his hair as the star did to Jay McGuiness last year, Fox replied: "I'd probably try and live with it. I'd try and figure it out.
"I wouldn't be too upset. I'd try and rock it by shaving the other side, try to style it out."
Fox was joined by Pixie Lott and Neon Jungle on the bill for the vInspired Awards, which celebrated the efforts and achievements of volunteers aged 14-25.
Delilah - who spoke to DS about rumours of a romance with Prince - Tyger Drew-Honey, Misha B, TOWIE's Ferne McCann, Made in Chelsea's Mark Francis and Louie Spence were among the celebrity attendees.
