Jolie sheds tears for mother on TV

Angelina Jolie broke down in tears during a television interview as she spoke about the death of her mother.

Marcheline Bertrand died of cancer, aged 55, in January. Recalling the loss, and the birth of her and Brad Pitt's daughter Shiloh, the actress became emotional while talking to NBC Today.

"This has been a heavy year, in losing my mum and having a fourth child," she told viewers of the US breakfast show. "I am very aware of time and memories, and doing and enjoying life."

She paused and added: "You made me cry. It is a part of life. I lost my mum, it's a natural thing for a child to lose a parent. I lost my mum too young, but it happens and I am happy she is not in pain because I love her."
