Eddie Murphy and Melanie Brown are due in court in the US over the mystery of whether he is the father of her baby.

The actor, who was in a relationship with the ex-Spice Girl last year, maintains Angel Iris is not his - but she disagrees.

He is due in court in the US to provide a DNA test, according to The Sun, and Brown is also to attend.

Murphy had been due in London to promote Shrek The Third but a source told the paper he would have to make the appointment.

“If he tries to duck out of this test there will be all hell to pay," he said. “This isn’t just another girlfriend he is messing around, this is his own flesh and blood.

“Mel knows the baby is Eddie’s and can’t believe it has got to this point where she has to force him to acknowledge there is a chance he could be the father."
