Paris Hilton out of medical ward

Paris Hilton has been transferred from a medical ward back to regular prison.

The heiress began her sentence at Century Regional Detention Centre but following suggestions she was not eating and suffering severe depression was moved to a separate facility.

Prison spokesman Daryl Meeks confirmed she was returned to the original centre, for women, at 11pm on Wednesday. He said her condition was "stable".

When Hilton was first jailed, for a probation violation, it was reported she was crying violently and non-stop. Officials released her to serve her term confined at home, but a judge then returned her to custody.
