Lily Allen has said she no longer wants to be a celebrity.
The singer, who has been the subject of much attention in recent months, made the declaration in post on her MySpace site titled "F*** Off, F*** Off".
She complained about reports she turned up late for a gig in New York last week and wrote: "I don't want to be a celebrity, I am a singer, I write songs, that's it.
"I would never turn up two hours late for a gig... EVER. I'd been in my dressing room since four o'clock that afternoon anyway it's not as if I'd leave 3000 people out there for no reason."
Allen, who is due to appear on MTV's TRL show this week, continued: "I don't sleep and take drugs with famous people (I have a boyfriend I've been with for nearly 3 years), I don't go to film premieres. I don't go shopping in the paparazzi hotspots, so please leave me alone."
She added that the change of mind would mean less internet posts for her fans: "The thing is, I’m not going to write here so often now. This used to be one of my favourite things to do. I could come on here and vent how I feel honestly and get feedback from you guys. But the tabloid f***s have ruined it."
