Hilton to be freed on Tuesday

Paris Hilton will be freed on Tuesday after serving 23 days of her original 45-day prison sentence.

The celebrity heiress has had 22 days slashed from her term at the Century Regional Correction Facility in Lynwood, California on account of good behaviour.

Sergeant Duane Allen said: "There was some confusion as to whether it would be Monday or Tuesday, and we just wanted to let people know what was happening."

Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail last month for violating the terms of her probation for a drink-driving offence.
