Anthea Turner has broken a bone in her foot while rehearsing for a new programme for BBC Three.

The presenter tripped over her own flip-flops and fell off stage at the Birmingham NEC.

She broke a metatarsal bone in her foot - the same injury that David Beckham a number of years ago - and has since been seen hobbling around in a cast that she has nicknamed the 'Beckham Boot'.

Turner, 47, had to wear the cast to Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball last week and was photographed with it while on holiday in the Mediterranean with husband Grant Bovey.

She told the Daily Mail: "My new nickname is Stumpy."
