The singer admitted that she wishes to distance herself from rumours of backstage strops and outrageous demands - and believes that getting rid of her stage name is the first step.
"That's all gone with the ridiculous stories about me throwing tantrums and insisting on Egyptian sheets," she explained. "That's all firmly in my past."
Lopez added that she wants to show the public that she is not "shallow" and does not focus solely on cash.
"If you focus on the money you're not going to get anywhere," she said. "If money is your motivation you're going to be such an empty shallow person."
