Pink praises Allen, Winehouse

Pink has heaped praise on Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse for putting the personality back into pop music.

The Grammy award-winner took a swipe at vacuous female celebrities on her 2006 hit single 'Stupid Girls', singing: "What happened to the dreams of a girl president? She's dancing in the video next to 50 Cent."

However, she insisted that the current crop of British pop stars is more than capable of redressing the balance, saying: "Amy and Lily are going crazy in America right now. I think they're awesome. I'm very excited about them.

"Sex and drugs are an integral part of being a rock star. It's all about your attitude and how you do your thing. Having the experience of sex and drugs is a good thing, but you don't have to continue. It's more important who you are and what you stand for."
