Diana Ross has been accused of firing staff on whims and being a difficult and demanding boss in a new biography due out in September.

The book, entitled Diana Ross, alleges that the former Supremes singer fired an entire team of staff after unflattering stories were leaked to the press.

Reports in the New York Daily News claim that author J Randy Taraborrelli accuses Ross of using her daughter Tracee to spy on staff and report back to her.

Taraborrelli adds that Ross attempted to overshadow former bandmate Florence Ballard's funeral by requesting a silent prayer over the microphone at the congregation for her and fellow Supreme Mary Wilson

The author comments it was clear: "the last thing (Wilson) wanted to do was to go up to the altar and be the centre of attention".
