Russell Brand offends local councillor
Published Wednesday, Jul 4 2007, 11:00 BST | By Kimberley Dadds

The TV presenter was appearing at a gig when he held up a local newspaper and showed the audience an article about a theft at a Primary school.
The comedian then used someone's phone to call up the police and tell them that he had some information about a crime. When he was asked to give the information, Brand said: "Well, it could have been anyone in Tremorfa really. They are all criminals."
But Councillor Gavin Cox, whose ward is the Tremorfa area, complained: "It just shows what degree of snobbery these individuals have about areas that are deprived. Crime is decreasing massively in Tremorfa and there is a heck of a lot of good work going on to establish community groups and sports groups for the kids. I think Russell Brand's snide comments are typical of the man himself."
