Hilton issues drink drive warning to fans

Paris Hilton has urged her fans to be "responsible" when it comes to drink driving in an Independence Day posting on her MySpace page.

The Simple Life star was recently released from jail after being caught driving on a suspended licence, following an alcohol-related driving case. The reality television star served 23 days in jail as punishment.

In the message, she said: "Happy 4th of July everyone, and remember to be responsible and have a designated driver! Just looking out for you all. I love you and have an amazing summer!"

Hilton used the posting to thank fans that showed their support during her recent stint behind bars, writing: "I just want to thank you all for the letters of love and support. I am doing my best to respond to each and every one with the letter I wrote - that message was for fans like you who have supported me through it all."

She added: "The past month has inspired me to move forward with some exciting new projects, so I will keep you all posted."
