Richie's trial postponed until next month

Simple Life star Nicole Richie's DUI trial has been postponed until next month.

The 25-year-old was stopped by police in December after she was allegedly spotted driving the wrong way on a California highway. She failed a drugs test and admitted that she had taken marijuana and Vicodin before driving.

Richie's trial was originally expected to begin yesterday (July 11), but a Los Angeles court has now approved her request to delay the start date until August 16 because a defence witness is unavailable to testify until then.
