Pearl Lowe has accused Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan of creating the wrong impression of rehab.

The former singer writes candidly about her battle to overcome her own drug addictions in All That Glitters, which she believes reveals the truth about the dangers of illegal substances.

"When you read about Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton or Britney Spears, they seem to celebrate [rehab]," Pearl remarked. "I guess one of the great things about my book is that it shows it isn't glamorous."

Lowe, who has been clean for over two years, also commented on Pete Doherty's addictions. She shared a flat with the Babyshambles frontman back when he was with The Libertines.

"He's no different to any other addict," Lowe said. "He's no different to me in the height of my addiction, but no-one can help you but yourself. As soon as someone wants to get clean, and they really do want to get clean, there is a lot of help out there for them."
