The piano used by James Blunt to compose smash-hit 'You're Beautiful' has been sold.

The old Chappell upright fetched £1,200 at an auction at London house Bonhams.

The instrument was sold by the buyers of the two-bedroom Fulham flat where Blunt previously lived with his sister.

The flat's deeds said: "The piano on which James composed his first pieces remains on the property and is included in the sale."

An unnamed buyer reportedly bought it as a present for his six-year-old daughter.

'You're Beautiful' was number one in both the British and US charts when it was released in 2005.
