Jackson must pay £125,000 legal fees

Michael Jackson has been ordered to pay more than $256,000 (£125,000) to a legal firm for work during his child molestation trial.

Ayscough & Marar handled issues including preventing the release of some evidence to the public and other parties for the star during his 2005 court hearing.

It sued him for failing to pay fees for the services and a judge told him on Friday to pay $216,837 (£105,971) and $39,177 (£19,146) in interest.

Marshall Brubacher, Jackson's attorney, apparently ultimately agreed to pay out rather than going to trial in order to "stop the haemorrhaging".

The lengthy trial ultimately saw the star acquitted of the child molestation charges.
