Lindsay Lohan surrenders to police

Lindsay Lohan has been formally arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The Mean Girls actress, 21, turned herself in to Beverly Hills police yesterday to be fingerprinted and photographed.

She was released on $30,000 bail after a court appearance was scheduled for August 24.

Lohan was cited by Beverley Hills police when she lost control of her car and crashed into a kerb on Sunset Boulevard on May 26. Police officers found a "usable" amount of cocaine in her car.

She was not arrested at the time because she was being treated in hospital for minor injuries.
