Sandi Thom's studio ruined by flood

Sandi Thom's recording studio has been ruined by flood water this week.

The Scottish singer, best known for her hit I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker, puts together her own tracks in the studio and has also used it to perform to fans via the internet. Fortunately, no songs have been lost and disruption to her music career will be minimal, as Sandi completed work on her second album two weeks ago.

Thom is currently on holiday with her boyfriend and is unaware of the damage, which was discovered by the 25-year-old's brother Chris at her North London home.

A source told the Daily Record: "Because of the thunderstorms the water is three feet deep and all the amps and guitars that were on the floor are damaged. Although the computer where she mixes her songs isn't damaged, the leads are soaked and it was lucky the electricity went down otherwise it could have started a fire.

"The floor is likely to need redone and the adjoining room where she has a sofa and bar to chill out in has been hit too."
