Sarah Michelle Gellar has taken a side wipe at her partying peers, claiming she wants to be a positive role model to her fans.
Speaking about fellow young actresses, the Buffy The Vampire Slayer star said: "It makes me sad.
"There are so many people who are doing wonderful things and being good role models but because it doesn't make an interesting story people aren't aware of it."
She added: "I take being a role model very seriously. If I'm able to help or lend my support to something because I'm in a position where people look up to me, then it's my responsibility to appreciate and honour that. It's certainly not something I take lightly."
Gellar has recently complained at the delayed release of Southland Tales, in which she plays porn star Krysta Now.
