Ditto praises UK for accepting nature

The Gossip frontwoman Beth Ditto has praised the UK for its acceptance of "weirdoes".
The US singer has spoken of her surprise that bands like Antony And The Johnsons, who explore themes of transgenderism in their music, can find success in Britain. However, she is more critical of other aspects of British culture, including the use of topless models on Page 3 of tabloid newspapers.
"It's not perfect, the UK can treat women really s***ty; you guys have Page Three here, which I think is pretty weird, but at the same time it's just way more open to weirdoes. And more diverse," Beth is quoted by WENN as saying.
"Antony And The Johnsons wins awards here, and that would never happen in America, they wouldn't even be acknowledged in the America, everyone's just so worried about what's the right thing to do."
