Britney's lawyer voices kidnap fear

Britney Spears' lawyer has warned that the star's two children could be targeted by kidnappers.

At a court hearing yesterday, which resulted in Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline being awarded joint custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James, the singer's lawyer Laura Wasser asked the judge to keep the court documents sealed. She argued that releasing full details of the custody arrangement could jeopardise the children's safety.

Wasser told the judge: "Such information greatly increases the chances that the actions of the media could threaten the safety of the minor children by, for example, causing a traffic accident or by exposing the minor children to criminals who might target the minor children for financial gain."

The judge agreed to comply with Wasser's request temporarily, pending a full hearing next month.
