Nicole Richie is pregnant

Nicole Richie has revealed that she and boyfriend Joel Madden are expecting their first child.

Pregnancy rumours had surrounded the Simple Life star for several weeks, but she had refused to confirm them until now.

She told Good Morning America: "Yes I am (pregnant). We are. I'm almost four months."

Richie and Madden, a member of ‘Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous’ rockers Good Charlotte, have been dating for nine months.

On Friday Richie was sentenced to four days in jail and three years' probation after pleading guilty to driving under the influence on drugs. She must complete her prison sentence before September 28.
