Richie to serve time in Hilton's LA jail

Nicole Richie has requested to serve her four day jail sentence at the same place that Paris Hilton was behind bars.

The socialite will spend her time at the Century Regional Detention Facility in California after she was arrested in December for driving under the influence.

Earlier this year her Simple Life co-star Hilton was jailed in the same facility and was placed in a segregated unit for high profile inmates.

Spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Steve Whitmore said: "(Richie's) attorney contacted us and indicated she wants to do her time there."

But he was unable to clarify whether Richie, who is four months pregnant, would be placed in a medical ward or not, saying: "That's all determined by our medical staff upon her arrival."
