Lohan's dad blames her troubles on himself

Lindsay Lohan's father Michael has blamed himself for the star's recent personal problems.

The Mean Girls actress was arrested on July 24 for driving under the influence, possession of cocaine and driving on a suspended licence. She checked into rehab at the weekend, and is expected to receive treatment for at least 30 days.

Michael - who has served a number of prison sentences, including a recent one for attempted assault and driving without a license - has insisted that his poor example is the reason that Lindsay has gone off the rails.

"Anyone would be afraid to face this situation," Michael told the New York Post's Page Six column. "I feel responsible for what happened. I led by the wrong example."
