Michelle Pfeiffer has been awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and unveiled the accolade in a ceremony yesterday.
The actress has been nominated for Oscars for films such as Dangerous Liaisons and Love Field and is due to appear in two upcoming movies this year.
Pfeiffer thanked her parents for encouraging her to act, and during the ceremony she spoke about her mother: "She taught me that I could do anything and that I should have a career before I get married." She also spoke about her father, saying that he "taught me that you can make something of yourself if you work hard.”
She is currently appearing in Hairspray alongside John Travolta and will be seen on screen with Sienna Miller this month in Stardust.
