Jolie commented: "I'm not interested. I feel like you can get so much more done if you stay out of politics."
The Tomb Raider star claims that she will choose to focus on her humanitarian work for the United Nations and raise more children rather than enter the world of politics, say reports.
Explaining that she enjoys her freedom too much to make the career switch, she added: "I've many things to do. So many kids! I'm able to go to Washington and meet with politicians on all different issues and get involved with different things and have the freedom to go around the world and do different things."
Meanwhile, in a written statement yesterday, the Oscar-winner declared that she hasn't signed up to support Presidential candidate John Edwards.
Jolie said: "There are many false stories that circulate about me, but the one I feel I need to address, because it is about such an important topic, is that I have not decided to endorse John Edwards, or any other presidential candidate."
