Chris Evans skips beer fest for fiance

Chris Evans missed his annual trip to the Great British Beer Festival in favour of a night in with fiance Natasha Shishmanian.

The radio host religiously attends the event but told fans on his blog he was this year giving it a miss ahead of his wedding on Saturday.

"I’m not going," he declared. "I don’t want to get ratted and feel like a beaten up old lump of lard come the big day on Saturday."

Evans explained he was instead staying at home for a "little surprise" from Shishmanian. He added: "My mates are still going, as is our Nige from the show but I? No, not this year."
