A Coldplay fan has been attacked for singing 'Yellow' at a karaoke bar in Seattle.

The man took to the stage at the Chances Bar and Grill, but a woman in the audience reportedly declared: "Oh no, not that song. I can't stand that song!"

She then pushed and punched the singer, while shouting that both the song and his performance "sucked".

Barman Robert Willmette told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer: "It took three or four of us to hold her down."

He revealed that the 21-year-old woman "went crazy", throwing punches at people and head-butting an off-duty police officer twice as she was dragged outside.

She was held at the King County jail for investigation of assault and on a warrant issued for a previous theft charge.

According to bartender notes, the woman only had a single shot of Jagermeister.
