Eddie Murphy has threatened to sue former partner Melanie Brown for defamation and extortion if she continues to spread 'lies' about him.
The Spice Girl gave birth to Eddie's child Angel Iris earlier this year, but she has since claimed that he has not paid a penny towards their daughter.
A letter sent to Mel B by Murphy's lawyer said: "You have been engaging in a pattern of disseminating disparaging, negative and defamatory statements about Mr Murphy, portraying him in a false and outrageous light in order to pressure Mr Murphy to capitulate to your highly unreasonable extortionate demands.
"We demand that you immediately cease and desist from this wrongful conduct."
The letter also claimed that the singer had demanded that her former boyfriend buy her a $9 million Malibu house and let her live in it for the next 18 years.
