Nicola Roberts has admitted that it makes her upset when she is dubbed the "ugly one" in Girls Aloud.
The 'Love Machine' singer told OK! that she found it "hurtful" being compared to the other girls in the group, and that she has to had to get used to disparaging comments about her looks.
Referring to the reports that 'Smile' singer Lily Allen recently called her the "ugly one", she said: "I've had people say that to me for five years now. She called me 'the ugly one' because she couldn't remember my name so she must really think I'm ugly.
"It did get to me, but I've almost got used to it. The first time I was called ugly was when I was 16 and for a girl of that age coming into a world like this, it was heartbreaking."
The pop star added: "I was still a child. And being told I was the ugly one of the five girls is so hurtful. The other girls are gorgeous and pretty, I'm more quirky."
However, Roberts was voted into FHM's Top 100 Sexiest Women this year, reaching number 47 in the list, and explained that she enjoyed receiving the attention from such polls.
The Girls Aloud star said: "It's flattering and it was nice because the others usually get a lot more attention, but that's probably because people think they're prettier than me."
