Snoop Dogg's former neighbours have described living next door to the star as a "nightmare".

The rap artist sold his home in Claremont, California this week - and local residents are reportedly thrilled to be rid of him.

Snoop, real name Calvin Broadus, bought the property in 1994 but moved out in 2000 after it featured on the MTV series Cribs.

Neighbour Captain Gary Jenkins told the Claremont Courier: "There were regular parties, and they were loud. So we would receive a lot of noise complaints. There were a lot of cars in the neighbourhood and people loitering around in the streets."

The huge home includes eight bedrooms, five bathrooms, a recording studio, a home theatre, a pool, a guest house and both basketball and tennis courts. It was reportedly snapped up for $1.8 million by a local physician and his family.
