David Walliams and Lisa Snowdon are to fill in for Richard and Judy while they take time off for music mogul Tony Wilson's funeral.
The Little Britain star reportedly dated Snowdon three years ago and described her in his autobiography as the woman he could not live without. He said he was heartbroken when the 35-year-old - who has dated George Clooney - refused to have a relationship with him.
The pair will be hosting Richard and Judy on Channel 4 at 5pm on Monday.
Walliams said: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be asked to be the new Richard Madeley. If all goes well, I will swap roles with Richard: taking over the show full time and moving in with Judy!"
Snowdon, a former model, said she has been on the show so many times that it would be strange sitting on the other side of the sofa. She revealed: "Richard and Judy are daytime royalty, so David and I definitely have a tough act to follow. But I'm looking forward to keeping safe guard over Queen Judy's crown for the day, and David's the perfect partner in crime."
