Criss Angel denies dating Britney

Illusionist Criss Angel has denied claims that he is dating Britney Spears.

Rumours that the pair are romantically involved were reported after they were spotted dining together at the Cravings Restaurant in Hollywood earlier this week.

However, Criss has insisted that he only met with Spears to discuss plans for her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards next month.

"It's amazing what people think. We're not together. Her manager is my manager, and I'm helping with one of her shows. I'm helping with her appearance on MTV," Criss told People.

Confirming that he did have dinner with Spears on Wednesday night, he added: "Yes, I'm here working on some stuff, and we went to that restaurant with 10 people. We were talking about how she wants to do something more with the [awards] show, and about me helping out and hoping to work with her on doing something to make her MTV appearance more innovative."
