Amy Winehouse's dad is "proud" of her

Amy Winehouse's father has praised the 'Rehab' singer for attempting to beat her drug addiction.

Mitch Winehouse revealed that he feels "so very proud" of his daughter for admitting that she has problems, and spoke of his confidence that Amy and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil will "come through" their troubles.

Amy checked in to the Causeway clinic in Essex with Blake at her side earlier this week, following her dramatic drugs collapse. The pair walked out just two days later, but they are now believed to be back at the facility.

Mitch also denied rumours of a rift with Blake's parents Giles and Georgette, explaining that both families "are delighted Amy and Blake have decided to deal with their health issues".

He added: "I'd also like to sincerely thank Giles and Georgette for all their efforts and support."
