Barat to play prison suicide gig

Carl Barat is to play a one-off gig at a London jail in a bid to raise awareness of suicide.
The Dirty Pretty Things frontman will perform a three-song acoustic set next to the cells at Pentonville Prison after being invited by the charity Wasted Youth.
He will then join the band to perform with The Enemy in the jail's chapel during the gig on August 27.
Barat's spokesman said: "They (Wasted Youth) asked Carl to do it and told us how many young males are killing themselves every year, especially in prisons. It was a case of 'Hang on, what can we do about it?'"
Pete Doherty was also lined up to perform, but the Prison Service vetoed his appearance amid concerns that he would detract from the charity's message.
