Arquette sued over film copyright

David Arquette is being sued by a filmmaker for copyright infringement and is claiming that he ripped off one of his movies.

The actor's production company Coquette Productions Inc made recent film The Tripper, but screenwriter Fritz Junker has insisted it is a copy of his 2002 movie The Truth About Beef Jerky.

Both of the pictures tell the story of a psychopath who goes on a hunt for a group of hippies at a music festival in America.

TMZ state that legal papers were filed in Los Angeles last week over the film, which Arquette directed and appeared in.

The lawsuit reads: "A reasonable audience presented with the two works would recognise The Tripper to be based upon The Truth About Beef Jerky."
