Charlotte Church steps up security

Published Monday, Aug 20 2007, 11:21 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly
Charlotte Church has decided to splash out £30,000 to ensure that her home is secure.

The singer and chat show host has bought a new security system to protect the £800,000 country house that she shares with rugby player Gavin Henson. The estate at St Bride's Major, near Cardiff, is close to a footpath which attracts hundreds of ramblers every year, and some have been able to spot the couple relaxing by their outdoor pool.

Church has told pals that she wanted to make the changes before the arrival of her first child.

A friend told The Mirror: "She bought the house to get away from the attention so won't feel happy until it is 100 per cent secure."
