Pete Doherty arrested after V Festival

Pete Doherty has been arrested just hours after he performed at the V Festival for suspected possession of drugs.

The Babyshambles frontman appeared on stage at the event but was four hours late for his set due to travel difficulties.

According to police sources, Doherty was then arrested in Tower Hamlets in London at about 2 o'clock this morning when his car was pulled over by police.

He is now said to be held in custody at an east London police station. A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: "A 28-year-old man was arrested in east London on suspicion of possession of drugs.”
