Allen denies anti-American claims
Lily Allen has denied claims that she is anti-American after ranting about George Bush during her performance at the V Festival.

The 'Smile' singer made disparaging comments about the American leader during her festival set and also berated US immigration officials for holding her in customs because of an attack she made on a photographer in March.

However, writing on her MySpace, Allen said: "Just because I hate George Bush doesn't mean I hate America, quite the opposite, I think the US is a great place and I am really sad that I can't be there for my commitments scheduled for the near future"

She added: "What I said about George Bush this weekend bears no relation to what happened a couple of weeks ago with my visa, that is an issue with the US immigration service. I just wanted to let you all know that my "foul mouth tirade" so widely reported over the past couple of days is actually pretty rehearsed and I've been saying it long before all this visa issue."
