Simpson hoping to avoid nose surgery

Jessica Simpson is hopeful she will not need to undergo surgery on her nose after damaging it on the set of her latest movie.

Talking about the incident, Simpson told In Touch Weekly: "It's still all bruised and swollen. The magic of make-up is doing wonders. Hopefully, when the swelling goes down, my nose will go back to normal."

Reports last week revealed that the Dukes of Hazzard actress had broken her nose while shooting for the film Major Movie Star. The singer-turned-actress has denied these allegations, insisting that it was only badly bruised.

A rep for the star commented: "She was in a combat scene and accidentally hit herself with a big gun on her nose. But she was able to continue shooting the movie"

They added: "Her nose is not broken, she did not have to have it reset."
