Blur drummer admits cocaine addiction

Dave Rowntree has confessed that he was a cocaine addict during his time as a drummer with Blur.
The 42-year-old said he began using the drug in the band's Britpop heyday in the 1990s, but kicked the habit before it ruined his life.
He told The Guardian that taking cocaine was “almost religious in its intensity and all my problems seemed to melt away”.
Rowntree – who is currently bidding to become a Labour MP in Liverpool – said he is now "active in the recovery community".
He explained: "The key point is that all the way along, I thought my behaviour was normal and it was the rest of the world that had gone mad. I had no idea my experience was different to anyone else's because I had nothing to measure it against."
Blur are rumoured to be reuniting in September to work on new material.
