Bill Murray faces golf cart DUI charge
Published Thursday, Aug 23 2007, 09:25 BST | By Beth Hilton
Actor Bill Murray could be charged with drink-driving after he was stopped by police while riding a golf cart through the centre of Stockholm.
The Lost in Translation star refused to blow into a breathalyser and was forced to take a blood test, the results of which are expected in the next two weeks.
"Then he was let go. My guess is he went back to America," Detective-Inspector Christer Holmlund told the Associated Press.
The 56-year-old, who had been at the Scandinavian Masters golf tournament, signed a document admitting that he was driving under the influence.
He also agreed to allow an officer to plead guilty on his behalf if he is found to be over the legal alcohol limit and the case goes to court.
Although it is not illegal to drive a golf cart in city traffic in Sweden, Holmlund described it as "very unusual".
