Duchovny credits happy marriage to luck

David Duchovny has put the success of his ten-year marriage to Téa Leoni down to good fortune.

The X Files star – who is due to start filming a big screen version of the hit sci-fi series - told The Sun: "It's all in the first date.

"I think the statistics for arranged marriages are the same as for marriages of choice: Only half survive. That tells me that marriages survive if the people are suited for one another.

"So, as far as Téa and I are concerned, we chose well."

But he admitted that he could not take credit for the happy marriage as he was simply following a hunch, adding: "It wasn't because I'm so smart or sensitive."
