Queen guitarist Brian May has officially become a doctor after passing his PhD Astronomy thesis.
The rocker handed in the 48,000 word piece earlier this month, 36 years after he had quit his studies to join the group.
He will be officially handed his PhD at a ceremony in Spring 2008 by the London Imperial College at the Royal Albert Hall.
May admitted he is fine with being called a doctor, telling the BBC: "I feel comfortable about using the title because I worked for this, and I'm going to be proud to call myself Doctor from now on."
