Winehouse's husband defended by dad
The father of Amy Winehouse's husband Blake Fielder-Civil has defended him against allegations made in the press.

School headmaster Giles denied claims that Blake is responsible for Amy's drug problems, insisting that her addictions stem from when she was just 13. He also insisted that his son would never use violence against the 'Rehab' singer.

Amy and Blake were recently pictured looking bloodied and battered, as they left a hotel in London. Winehouse later claimed that Blake had stopped her from taking drugs with a hooker.

"Blake's a dignified person. He wouldn't hurt Amy - not even in self-defence. But clearly she's gone hell for leather," Giles told the News of the World.

"It's nasty. The trouble is Amy does like to have her own way and she can be quite wilful. Maybe she wasn't allowed to continue whatever she wanted to do and this is how she reacted. Blake hasn't been supplying Amy with drugs. But there are people close to her who do. And what Amy wants, Amy gets."

He added: "Amy's dad Mitch said she was dabbling in drugs at 13. This is a girl that's had an eating disorder for a long time. These aren't new problems. It's totally unfair to blame Blake."
