'24' star splits with hockey player

Elisha Cuthbert has ended her two-year relationship with ice hockey player Sean Avery, reports claim.

The 24 actress began dating Avery after calling off her engagement to Justin Timberlake's assistant Trace Ayala in 2005.

Friends told the US edition of OK! magazine that Cuthbert, 24, dumped the New York Rangers player several weeks ago but they hope the pair can resolve their differences.

One said: "She's a serial monogamist, jumping from one relationship to another."

Avery was reportedly spotted chatting up Elisha’s friend Paris Hilton at a beach party in Malibu at the weekend.
